Reigning Champion Retief Goosen, 2023 Champion David Toms, Two-time Runner-up Steven Alker and Steve Stricker to Return to the 2025 Galleri Classic Presented by Spotlight 29 Casino

RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF. – Fifty-one days away from its first tee shot, the third edition of The Galleri® Classic Presented by Spotlight 29 Casino, returns a foursome of golfers who stand as the primary pillars of its brief history. Reigning champion Retief Goosen, inaugural champion David Toms, 2023 and 2024 tournament runner-up Steven Alker and Steve Stricker have committed to play in The Galleri Classic March 26-30 on the majestic Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club.

The Galleri Classic, named after title sponsor GRAIL’s multi-cancer early detection test, will feature 78 PGA TOUR Champions golf professionals, including World Golf Hall of Fame members, playing 54 holes (three rounds) of stroke play for a $2.2 million purse. The Galleri Classic’s ticket and Pro-Am offerings, as well as volunteer registration, are available at the tournament’s official website, www.TheGalleriClassic.com.

“You cannot tell the story of the beginnings of The Galleri Classic Presented by Spotlight 29 Casino without this quartet,” said Michelle DeLancy, tournament director of The Galleri Classic. “David Toms and Retief Goosen return to Mission Hills with fond memories of hoisting our trophy on the 18th green alongside Poppie’s Pond. Steven Alker’s pair of runner-up results here will fuel his desire to make his third start at The Galleri Classic a charmed one. Steve Stricker has played a role in advancing GRAIL’s healthcare initiatives throughout the Coachella Valley for those 50 and over, particularly as it relates to multi-cancer early detection testing, and our tournament is elated to have his continued support on and off the golf course.”

This foursome placed in the top six in each of The Galleri Classic’s first two events. Alker and Stricker account for the PGA TOUR Champions’ past three Player of the Year awards and Charles Schwab Cup trophies – Alker in 2022 and 2024 and Stricker in 2023, with Alker finishing as the Schwab Cup runner-up that year.

Goosen, a 2019 World Golf Hall of Fame inductee, became The Galleri Classic’s second champion on Easter Sunday last March. The 2001 and 2004 U.S. Open champion recorded a score of 13-under-par 203 (66-68-69) and claimed his third PGA TOUR Champions crown and a $330,000 winner’s prize with a one-stroke win over Alker, Alex Cejka and Ricardo Gonzalez. He tied for third place (11-under-par 205) in the 2023 Galleri Classic.

A seven-time PGA TOUR winner and a 2002 and 2007 Masters runner-up, Goosen is even more decorated internationally. The South African was a six-time Presidents Cup International team member and his DP World Tour accolades include 12 titles (separate of his U.S. Open wins), a 2001 Player of the Year award and Order of Merit crowns in 2001 and 2002. Transitioning to PGA TOUR Champions in 2019, Goosen won a senior major at the Kaulig Companies Championship and was named the circuit’s Rookie of the Year.

Toms went wire-to-wire to win the inaugural Galleri Classic, making birdies on six of his last 10 holes to finish the event at 16-under 200 (65-70-65). It is the most recent of Toms’ four PGA TOUR Champions titles, and Toms followed that up with a fifth-place finish (11-under 205) in last year’s Galleri Classic. Toms owns 13 PGA TOUR titles, including the 2001 PGA Championship, and won a senior major at the 2018 U.S. Senior Open.

Stricker, an 18-time PGA TOUR Champions and 12-time PGA TOUR winner, carded identical 54-hole scores of 10-under 206 at Mission Hills in recording T5 and T6 results in his first two Galleri Classic starts, respectively. A seven-time senior major winner, Stricker remarkably combined for seven wins, six runner-up finishes and 25 top-10 results in 28 starts over the 2023 and 2024 PGA TOUR Champions seasons.

Eight-time PGA TOUR Champions winner Alker recorded the same 12-under 204 score in both of his runner-up finishes in The Galleri Classic. The New Zealander assembled one title, five runner-up results and 16 top-10s in 22 events in garnering his 2024 PGA TOUR Champions Player of the Year and Schwab Cup honors.

The Galleri Classic continues its partnership with six cancer-related, non-profit beneficiary organizations tied into the Coachella Valley – American Cancer Society, The Desert Cancer Foundation, Eisenhower Health, Hanson House, Pendleton Foundation and Shay’s Warriors Life After Cancer.

The Galleri Classic features daily and weekly grounds tickets (from March 26-30) for $30 and $65, respectively, and clubhouse tickets (only for competition rounds March 28-30) for $75 per day and $150 for the week. Tickets can only be secured online at www.TheGalleriClassic.com.

About Galleri®
The Galleri multi-cancer early detection test is a proactive tool to screen for cancer. With a simple blood draw, the Galleri test can identify DNA shed by cancer cells, which can act as a unique “fingerprint” of cancer, to help screen for some of the deadliest cancers that don’t have recommended screening today, such as pancreatic, esophageal, ovarian, liver, and others.* The Galleri test can be used to screen for cancer before a person becomes symptomatic, when cancer may be more easily treated and potentially curable. The Galleri test can indicate the origin of the cancer, giving healthcare providers a roadmap of where to explore further. The Galleri test requires a prescription from a licensed healthcare provider and should be used in addition to recommended cancer screenings such as mammography, colonoscopy, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test, or cervical cancer screening. The Galleri test is recommended for adults with an elevated risk for cancer, such as those aged 50 or older.
